Description: Burnout and secondary trauma stress impact educators and students on a daily basis. This workshop has been designed to help educators understand trauma, trauma responses, and gain tools to address trauma. Participants will engage in trauma relief practices, with the goal of creating bigger toolboxes for themselves and their students. Mindfulness practices, slow looking, journaling, visioning, creating art, storytelling, movement, and play will all be part of the daily activities during the workshop. When we as educators have more emotional and mental space we can make more space for students. Come join us as we build strong relationships, connections, and practice meaningful ways of handling trauma, which we can practice with both ourselves and our students.
